Tom Scotto Awards - a lifetime devoted to the labor movement
During Thomas Scotto's 39 year career in the NYPD and NAPO,
he was presented with numerous awards for his dedication to the
Law Enforcement community.
Often it has been said that there is no greater advocate for
the law enforcement officers in this country than Thomas Scotto.
Some of the awards include, humanitarian awards from the Boy
Scouts of America and the Community Mayors of NY/NJ.
The two highest awards possible in law enforcement presented
by the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO).
Over 640 people attended his retirement party which included
guest speakers, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Police commissioner Ray
Kelly, and a video broadcast from US Senator Hillary Clinton.
At the event, letters of congratulations were read from: US President
George Bush, former US President Bill Clinton and NYS Governor
George Pataki.
Many of the awards presented to Tom are from various police
groups throughout the country. All thanked him for his leadership
and for his efforts to enhance the benefits and well being of
the law enforcement community.
The Award presented by the
Nassau County PBA says it all.

friendship, dedication and professionalism in securing benefits,
not only for your members, but for every police officer that walked
beside you and will follow in your foot steps"
